William Derry
Bill is retired from a career in environmental issues working for CH2M HILL and State and Local government agencies. He joined the board in 2005 and is in his second term. He became board president in 2009.
David S. Brown, Jr.
David Brown is a retired commercial/international trade finance banker. He managed in Seattle the international office of Standard Chartered Bank, the preeminent international bank in the United Kingdom. He has resided in Seattle for 28 years and is on the Board of the Burke Museum and recently retired from his law School's Board of Advisors and the Whidbey Camano Land Trust.
Melissa Mager
Like so many residents of Puget Sound, Melissa Mager got here the long way—driving her Ford Pinto in 1981 from Oklahoma through California and up the Pacific Coast. Melissa played a major role in the creation of People For Puget Sound.
Michael Schaefer
Mike is a consultant in strategic planning, fundraising and management. He joined the board in 2009 and is in his first term.
Rick Davis
Rick Davis, a Washington native, joined the board in 2010 and is serving his first term. Rick has been a financial executive at Weyerhaeuser, Cascade Natural Gas, and other area companies. He is an avid water sportsman and enjoys a family-owned cabin on Case Inlet.
Dick Wood
Dick is a 4th generation Puget Sounder, constantly intrigued with its ups and downs and flow. An avid boater and fisherman, he stalks salmon, crab, and shrimp, occasionally with success. The Sound, the sky, and mountains have been important parts of his life since early childhood.
Tom Bancroft
Tom is Executive Director of People For Puget Sound
Tom Bayley
Tom Bayley, born and bred in Seattle, joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. A resident of the Ballard neighborhood, he is president of C.D. Stimson Company, an asset management company founded in 1909.
Diana Craig
Diana Craig of Edmonds and Camano Island joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. She is Director of Human Resources at Intermec, Inc. of Everett, WA. Diana worked for People For Puget Sound in 2009 and came to understand the issues and what People For Puget Sound was doing about it.
Patrick Drum
Patrick Drum of Tacoma joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. He is a financial advisor providing investment management for wildlife parks and conservation endowments as a fixed income asset management at The Arbor Group at UBS Financial Services in Seattle. An active kayaker, Patrick got to know People For Puget Sound through our restoration work.
Josh Freedman
Josh Freedman of Seattle joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. He learned about People For Puget Sound about seven years ago while volunteering with the Seattle Aquarium’s Beach Naturalist program.
Sally Gustafson Garratt
A Puget Sound native, Sally’s family has had property on the south part of Whidbey Island for over 100 years. She spent summers there as a child with fellow board member and cousin Dick Wood. She also shares a family beach house on Harstine Island and claims South Sound connections as well.
Tom Holz
Tom is a consultant and an expert in storm water. He joined the board in 2005 and is in his second term. When not at home in Olympia, his favorite place in Puget Sound is the San Juan Islands. Tom first came to know People For Puget Sound when he asked executive director Kathy Fletcher to cosponsor the Salmon in the City conferences in 1992 and 1998.
Eric Laliberte
Eric Laliberte of Seattle joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. He is a student at the University of Washington School of Law. Eric learned about People For Puget Sound six years ago from a Seattle Times article. “Since then, just about every article that I have read about the Sound has included a quote from someone from People For Puget Sound. I think that this shows how important a voice People For Puget Sound has in the region,” says Eric.
David McCaughey
David McCaughey is regional accounts manager for the pharmaceutical firm sanofi-aventis. An avid boater, David is a volunteer and lead partner with the Seattle chapter of Social Venture Partners. He joined the board in 2010 and is serving his first term.
Christine Mead
Christine Mead is former Chief Financial Officer and President of Finance, Technology & Service at Safeco Corporation. She is an avid lover of outdoor activities seeking to combine her business expertise with her love of nature and the outdoors. "I'm very excited to join in the great work of People For Puget Sound and to contribute my efforts to preserving and protecting the natural beauty of this area," said Chris.
Donna Nickerson
Donna is an expert in coastal management. She joined the board in 2007 and is in her first term.
Sue Patnude
Sue Patnude of Matlock in Mason County joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. She is owner of convergence consulting, a management, grant writing and research service for non-profit organizations. Sue got to know People For Puget Sound when she worked for the Department of Ecology and she got to know the interesting world of Puget Sound water quality politics during the early 1990s.
Bruce Taft
Bruce is a retired oceanographer who joined the board in 2006. He is in his second term.
Colin Wagoner
Colin Wagoner of Seattle joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. He is Chief Executive Officer and Principal Engineer at RIDOLFI Inc., an environmental consulting firm based in Seattle. Colin has known about People For Puget Sound for at least a decade through his work in shoreline restoration when he got to know the organization at conferences and meetings.
