    Like so many residents of Puget Sound, Melissa Mager got here the long way—driving her Ford Pinto in 1981 from Oklahoma through California and up the Pacific Coast. Melissa played a major role in the creation of People For Puget Sound. In fact when she joined People For Puget Sound as a volunteer, the group didn’t even have its name. Melissa has remained with the organization as a volunteer all 20 years, including serving as Board President for two terms and rejoining the Board of Directors in 2011.

    A native of Oklahoma, Melissa is an attorney and has represented clients in family law matters since 1994 at Law Offices of Cynthia B. Whitaker. Melissa also spent eight years in Washington, D.C. as legislative staff to Oklahoma U.S. Senator Henry Bellmon, one year as legislative staff to the Speaker of the House of the State of Washington, and four years as professional staff to Oklahoma Governor Henry Bellmon.
