Patrick Drum of Tacoma joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. He is a financial advisor providing investment management for wildlife parks and conservation endowments as a fixed income asset management at The Arbor Group at UBS Financial Services in Seattle.
An active kayaker, Patrick got to know People For Puget Sound through our restoration work.
Raising people’s awareness of issues facing the Sound is the most important action that needs to be taken.
“We need to engage the community and the corporate sector as why and how they can support the organization in its endeavors to protect the Sound,” says Patrick.
As a board member, Patrick wants to make sure that People For Puget Sound is financially sound and self-sustaining and serves the shared interests of the community.
“I want to help People For Puget Sound explore potential revenue-generating projects within the context of its mission so that the organization can develop a more stable financial non-profit model. I can assist People For Puget Sound explore a wider range of ways to gain financial support from its community of stakeholders.”
Patrick’s favorite place in Puget Sound? “The San Juan Islands. Great place to go 'disappear' on kayak trips.”
