Sue Patnude
- Matlock
Sue Patnude of Matlock in Mason County joined the People For Puget Sound board in 2010. She is owner of convergence consulting, a management, grant writing and research service for non-profit organizations.
Sue got to know People For Puget Sound when she worked for the Department of Ecology and she got to know the interesting world of Puget Sound water quality politics during the early 1990s.
“Having followed People For Puget Sound activities for years, I figured it was time to pony up some cash and join last year! I am glad I did,” says Sue/
Sue would like to see Capitol Lake restored to its estuary condition by restoring the flushing of the watershed, restoring nearshore habitat in Budd Inlet, and improving the health of South Puget Sound. “Let’s correct this incredible public policy contradiction – a river trying to reconnect with its marine waters at the home of State government whose priorities include a healthy Puget Sound.”
“As a board member, I’d like to help find common ground amongst people who do not appreciate or understand the economic value of a healthy environment, In addition to working to restore the Deschutes Estuary, I’ll be working to build positive relationships with other who support a healthy and prosperous Puget Sound.”
Sue thinks all of Puget Sound is unique and amazing. “If I were to try and single out an area it would be the small coves and pocket estuaries where fish and wildlife gather to feed and rear their young. There is a certain serenity about these areas; a peacefulness that is all about the Pacific Northwest.”
