Tom Holz
- Olympia
Tom is a consultant and an expert in storm water. He joined the board in 2005 and is in his second term. When not at home in Olympia, his favorite place in Puget Sound is the San Juan Islands.
Tom first came to know People For Puget Sound when he asked executive director Kathy Fletcher to cosponsor the Salmon in the City conferences in 1992 and 1998.
“I think the most important thing we can do for the Sound is to require every jurisdiction to adopt and enforce the standard that requires leaving 65 percent pervious surface native soils and vegetation in all new developments and no runoff,” says Tom. “If not, stop development.”
“I hope, in the fullness of time, we can redevelop our existing watersheds to these low-impact development standards as well.”
Tom hopes that, through his work on the board, he can get the environmental alliance to champion adoption of the low-impact development standard.
