Spring 2010 training schedule (Seattle)

Now Recruiting for Sound Stewards! (Central Sound)

Get involved with the restoration community along the Duwamish River in Seattle and become a local habitat hero!  People For Puget Sound is pleased to bring you this FREE, four-class series. Class topics will include a history of the Duwamish River, introduction to ecology, native vs. invasive plant identification, weed control, and planting techniques.  In return for 16 hours of training, Sound Stewards are asked to commit to 40 volunteer hours over the next year on People For Puget Sound restoration sites.

Participants will meet with other stewards on a monthly basis to perform maintenance and monitoring, including invasive plant removal and native plant installation.

The Sound Stewardship Program offers opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved in hands-on restoration no matter what their level of experience. Join us in the effort to save Puget Sound.
