Environmental Outreach Team Leader

2/22 volunteer position posting for outreach leadership training

Join our Environmental Outreach Leadership Team

Here’s your chance to develop your communication chops, side by side with people who are serious about the science of Puget Sound.

Our outreach team creates momentum for the mission of People For Puget Sound by recruiting activists, volunteers and members at fairs, festivals and public spaces (e.g. Pike Place Market).

Become a team leader
Working directly with Jamie Wine, our Community Educator, you will use your outreach training and experience to shape the next phase of our outreach program.  Help set our annual schedule, work as part of the team to design new activities & strategize with our policy crew on messaging. This will be the 5th season of our outreach program.

The perfect team leader will be:
•    Honest and tactful, with excellent communication skills
•    Personable and extroverted, ready to speak on behalf of our organization
•    Insightful team-player, choosing the best outreach events to attend
•    Motivated to help create the structure of the program and give feedback based on your experiences.

Availability: People For Puget Sound is seeking 6 volunteers who can make a commitment from March through August 2010 for 8 hours per week.

The committee also meets twice a month to coordinate our work.

Location: This position will be based at our Seattle downtown office and at locations all around the Sound – wherever we host People For Puget Sound events.

Benefits:  This is an unpaid position. You will gain valuable program development experience and learn about the hottest Puget Sound environmental issues from inside our organization. You will gain excellent experience working with our professional staff.  You will also earn references for future employment, school credit where applicable and reimbursement for approved expenses relating to work.
