Eric Becker- Director of Sound And Vision
Eric Becker is a Seattle based Director. His company, We Are Shouting specializes in producing documentary and commercial video for a range of organizations and brands in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Eric received his MPH from Yale University in 2006 with a focus in global health, diet, and physical activity. He then went on to work as an Associate Producer for the 2007 HBO Comedy special “Assume the Position” staring Robert Wuhl. Eric co-produced the award winning 2011 film Fambul Tok (Dir. by Sara Terry), making regular trips to Sierra Leone to help capture the unprecedented story of a grass-roots reconciliation program that brings perpetrators and victims face-to-face in truth-telling and forgiveness ceremonies. Eric’s recent work as a director has included pieces for both corporate and non profit clients. From August to December of 2009, he worked as the in-house filmmaker for the international philanthropic foundation Social Venture Partners, producing a series of storytelling pieces. In May 2011, Eric completed his first feature-length documentary as a director. Entitled Sound and Vision, the film is an exploration of people working for the restoration and protection of Puget Sound. As a director, Eric’s work focuses on issues of social justice, relying on strong narratives and a visual style which remind us of our shared humanity. His work seeks to reaffirm that there are tangible solutions to issues of justice, health, peace, and the environment.
