Sound and Vision | Synopsis
Sound and Vision, a film in eight parts, explores issues facing the near shore environment. It is a film about the
oceans, told through the stories of people working to clean up, protect, and restore habitat in Puget Sound and
beyond. Opening with scenes from the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster of 2010, the voices and images of the devastated coastal communities of the Gulf frame the eight vignettes that follow. Through the lens of Puget Sound residents and environmental advocates, the issues of human and industrial impact are explored and captured through striking imagery of the worlds above and below Puget Sound. Examining oil spills, plastic trash, legacy pollution, and ongoing degradation in the form of polluted runoff and household toxins, the film looks at practical ways that people can be involved in working for ocean health. Sound and Vision ends with a call for the restoration of Puget Sound, the Gulf, and beyond. Follow us as we release segments of the film over the coming months, or join us for a screening of the entire film soon.
