Update: People For Puget Sound Transition

A letter from People For Puget Sound on the transition to Washington Environmental Council and EarthCorps

On behalf of the board, we are writing with an update on our efforts to transition People For Puget Sound’s work to Washington Environmental Council and EarthCorps.  We are pleased to share that the board of directors of each of these organizations have approved the transfer of our policy, advocacy, and education programs to Washington Environmental Council and the restoration programs to EarthCorps. We are excited about this transition and confident that our mission will continue with the strong and effective leadership of these two organizations.

We have had initial discussions with many of our funders about transferring contracts and grants that support this work to Washington Environmental Council and EarthCorps. Over the next few weeks we will be working to officially transfer the support to each organization.  We hope you will stay actively engaged with the work that each of these organizations do to protect and restore the iconic waters of the Sound.

You can connect with Washington Environmental Council through their website or on Facebook, or Twitter.  And with EarthCorps through their website, Facebook, and Twitter.

Although transitions are not easy, we feel quite fortunate that our work will be passed to these two impressive and strategic organizations.  In fact, we believe the mission of People For Puget Sound will now move forward in such a way as to make the conservation of Puget Sound even a stronger priority in Washington state. We hope you feel, as we do, that the stars are aligned for making even more progress in the years ahead.

We are deeply grateful for your support of People For Puget Sound over the past years as volunteers, activists, and supporters.  Thank you so very much!

Our gratitude and appreciation,
Bill  Derry, Board President
Tom Bancroft, Executive Director
